Other checks such as:
Checking the engine compression, whether it is still nice and flat on each cylinder. This can be known by checking the combustion chamber compression is flat on each cylinder. If under standard compression, meaning there is a compression leak. Which sourced can be from; worn piston rings, valve leakage, gasket leaks. This incomplete combustion will certainly result in the power down, and wasteful consumption of gasoline.
